Foraging with Wild Food UK - Drovers Rest

29 October 2023
Hay-on-Wye

Overview

We love wild food. We forage it, cook it, dry it, prepare it, store it, and eat it! Foraging for us started with a genuine love of the great outdoors and a passion for food, combining both turns our walks in the woods into a treasure hunt! There is an abundance of edible plants and fungi that grow in the UK, and knowing what you can and cannot eat from your local woods will enhance your walks and your diets!

Upon meeting at the Drovers Rest and following a short introduction to foraging sustainably and safely, our informative instructors will lead the way on an (approximate) 2.5hr walk teaching you how to identify various plants, flowers, and mushrooms. You'll have the opportunity to taste our lovely, foraged Elderflower champagne and a seasonal Wild Food soup! The day will finish with a lovely wild food feast prepared from the foraged goodies found that day!

(All full list of finds and recipes will be emailed to you after the course.)
