Easter Weekend Guided Tours - Snodhill Castle
Garry Crook, castles expert and Chair of the Snodhill Castle Preservation Trust, Tim Hoverd, archaeologist, and others will be conducting guided tours of what was very nearly the great lost castle of the marches, in its commanding 14 acre landscape setting. They'll share our discoveries (including that of the Royal Free Chapel and medieval 'panic room'), advance our latest theories about its history and significance - and welcome speculations of your own! Tours last about 90 mins and happen on Easter Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 2.30 pm. Wellies & brollies essential; heritage-friendly dogs welcome.
Admission / Ticket Information
The castle and site are free to visit all year round but places on the tours are limited and pre-booking strongly advised - use the contact form at www.snodhillcastle.org. We invite donations of £10 per adult.
Disabled Access
There's free car parking beyond the castle gate. There is no disabled access and there are no facilities - the nearest are in Dorstone, just over a mile away. The site is slippery and uneven and has steep drops, so children must be supervised.
