
Christopher Allsop, Organ recital - St Michael and All Angels Church
Overview
Christopher Allsop presents a varied programme of music bringing to life the sound-world and capabilities of the 1892 Abbott and Smith organ in Bodenham church. Music to include pieces by Thomas Tomkins (Worster Braules), Edward Elgar, J. S. Bach (Concerto in A minor), William Boyce and Herbert Howells (Master Tallis's Testament). Christopher was the organ scholar of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor and subsequently of Trinity College, Cambridge. He was appointed assistant organist of Birmingham Cathedral before moving to Worcester Cathedral as assistant Director of Music where he was also closely involved with the Three Choirs Festival. He is currently assistant director of music at the King’s School, Worcester. This concert is part of the Flood Concert Series.
