Overview

This section of the Wye Valley Walk starts at Bredwardine Church, where the 19th century nature writer and diarist Francis Kilvert was curate. Passing Brobury House and Gardens we follow lanes to Brobury Scar and the oddity of the Monnington Mile! We will take a peep inside Monnington Church before walking through Bulmer's orchards to reach Byford Church with its 600 year old wall paintings. Following the route of a Roman Road we pass the site of a Romano-British walled town and pretty Breinton Church with links to Edward Elgar. A peaceful path hugs the riverbank into Hereford.

Important There are no facilities/refreshments on route so make sure you have enough food and drink for all day.

You will need walking boots and waterproof clothing/ warm layers dependent on the weather.
