A beautiful, large, historic house in a picturesque village and glorious countryside. The Throne sensitively combines ancient and modern. A huge open-plan living area has been added to the mediaeval building to create a stunning and relaxed place to stay. Outside there is a fully enclosed garden with large lawn and pretty flower beds. Inside there are 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and generous entertaining space. The Throne is dog friendly and ideal for family gatherings, reunions and special occasions. It's also sufficiently homely for a couple or small party to enjoy - there's a 35% discount for parties of up to 6 people using 3 bedrooms or fewer.
The outstanding Grade II* listed house has a fascinating history and a Royal connection from which it takes its name. Dating from the 1420s, and enlarged in the reign of Elizabeth I, it was an inn in the 17th century and hosted Charles I for a night in 1645 during the Civil War. The original Tudor bedrooms are home to secret passages, original floorboards, and fascinating glimpses of wattle and daub. It featured in The Times, September 2020, as 'a magnificent house...fit for a king'.
Weobley is the largest and best preserved of the county's black and white villages. It's a very friendly and vibrant place with a fine traditional pub ('The Sal'), two very good restaurants, a butcher, delicatessen and village shop. There are lovely circular walks straight from the house, and even good public transport!
