Portland House

A warm welcome awaits you at Portland House, a Grade II Georgian Property positioned in a village setting within an area of outstanding natural beauty. On the cusp of the beautiful counties of Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire it is the perfect base for walking, cycling, canoeing and fishing, being directly opposite Symonds Yat at the edge of the Forest of Dean. The spacious en-suite rooms offer flexible options for groups of up to six people, children and dogs welcomed. With dedicated guests dining-room and lounge plus access to our large garden, we offer more than just a 'room'.

We have one four-poster room with roll-top bath in the en-suite, one Super-king room which can convert to twin beds and one triple, with a double bed and separate single bed. All rooms have smart tv's with complimentary drinks trays and homemade treats.

We cater for cyclists/walkers/anglers with a wet room and drying area for those dirty boots/wet weather gear etc or simply cleaning your precious pooches after a muddy walk.

With the fantastic Woods of Whitchurch on our doorstep - local deli, cafe and shop offering fantastic local fare, along with several other eateries/pubs within walking distance, you don't need to venture far for all your catering needs.

Activities within walking distance include Butterfly Museum, Mini golf and maze along with paddle boarding, canoeing and river cruises.
