This is a very small and quiet ancient woodland, one of a series along the ridges of Wenlock limestone north of the Malvern Hills. The oak and wild service woodland is rich in woodland plants and fungi, and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There is no parking at the wood but can be explored from the Worcestershire Way footpath. A short circular path winds through the woodland from the entrance gate. This path can be muddy in winter or after heavy rain. The Woodland Trust does not allow cycling or horse riding in this wood.
