Mould making and slipcasting with Lucy Blackley - CUP Ceramics

Join our technician Lucy Blackley to learn the beginners ins & outs of slipcasting and mould making. In the first session (Saturday May 3rd 11-4pm) you will learn how to create your own two part mould from your own found object. In the second session (Sunday May 4th 11-1pm) you will learn what the slipcasting process is, how it works, and how to approach it yourself (in your own studio, or in the CUP studio).

There will be the necessary theory dotted between practical, hands on learning; where one part and multiple part moulds will be used. You will get experience using equipment and materials not typically used in the CUP studio.

The day will take you through pouring, de-moulding, and finishing off two cast objects. This course is perfect for those wanting to expand their knowledge and experiences of the potting world, and for those wanting to begin their slip casting learning journey.
