Halloweenfest hits Herefordshire
Spooktastic touring festival offers free family fun & pop-up pumpkin patches in market towns
Head to the very first Halloweenfest this October half term, a free Halloween- themed family festival which will be touring Herefordshire's five market towns between 30 October and 3rd November 2023.
The touring festival is free to attend and takes place each day from 10am to 4pm:
- Monday 30th October in Bromyard,
- Tuesday 31st October in Ross on Wye
- Wednesday 1 November in Ledbury
- Thursday 2 November in Leominster
- Friday 3 November in Kington
Pop-up Pumpkin Patches with over 250 free pumpkins
Each town will have its very own pop-up pumpkin patch for the day with children invited to grab a wheelbarrow to explore the hay-filled furrows and pick a pumpkin from over 250 on offer. Take yours home or carve it on the day to be in with a chance of winning the best carved pumpkin competition.
Fun kids activities
There's plenty to keep the children busy at Halloweenfest. Spooky face painting, circus skills workshops, balloon modelling, music and magic are all on offer, whilst Herefordshire Wildlife Trust will be sharing news on its projects.
There will also be a host of crafts to enjoy, thanks to local businesses including Yat Pottery in Ross on Wye and the Sydney Nolan Trust in Kington.
Follow the Scarecrow Trail
Each town will have its very own Scarecrow Trail for families to follow and enjoy throughout the half term week (open 28th October to 5th November). Everyone who completes the trail will be entered into a prize draw and be in with a chance to scoop a gift voucher from a local toy shop!
Halloweenfest has been funded by the Herefordshire County BID and has received £14,309 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund’s Events and Festivals Grant Scheme.
