Kinnersley Castle
Kinnersley HR3 6QFDescription
Kinnersley Castle was one of the many Marches castles sited by the Normans along the Welsh border. As seen today it is predominantly the remodelled Elizabethan manor house of the Vaughan family, which houses various fine oak panelled rooms and the original 1588 plasterwork ceiling of the Solar. The Castle has changed hands numerous times in its long, interesting life, and many families have made their own particular marks. Previous residents of note include:-

Directions
Kinnersley is a small rural village situated on the Leominster to Brecon road (A112). It should not be confused with villages of the same name in both Shropshire and Worcestershire. 14 miles from Hereford. Hay-on-Wye and The Black Mountains are nearby. The nearest station is Hereford which has a good supply of taxis, there is also a limited bus service from Hereford to Kington which stops about 2 miles from Kinnersley at Sarnesfield Oak.
