The Stagg Inn
Titley, Kington HR5 3RLDescription
The Stagg was built at the meeting point of 2 drovers roads and is part medieval, part early Victorian with a bit of the 1970s. Today it is rustic in feel with a small bar housing a collection of 200 pub jugs and some very friendly gossiping locals. There are three dining rooms or you can choose to eat in the bar itself. The atmosphere is informal with wooden tables and no background music, but we are very busy at the weekends when it can be a bit noisy.
You can drink traditional British beer, select a local cider or maybe a bottle of Burgundy. We serve sandwiches, home-made faggots, lobsters or fillet of finest Herefordshire beef.
In 2001 we were the first pub to be awarded a Michelin Star (which we still have) and we were voted as one of the top ten gastro-pubs by our peers in a national survey for a trade newspaper in 2006. Among many recent accolades, we have been Herefordshire Dining Pub of the Year in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 National Dining Pub of the Year in The Good Pub guide.
