Food and Drink in Herefordshire
Food lies at the heart of this prolific county. The edible landscape is formed and shaped by generations of rich produce, all grown in the distinctive deep red soil. And with such wonderful produce available, buying, preparing, cooking and eating are top priorities!
Herefordshire is proud of the high number of dedicated small independent food and drink producers who are committed to supplying top quality flavoursome seasonal produce. Harness this with a growing number of specialist food shops, restaurants and eating houses and you have a flourishing foodie paradise. Look out for the Flavours of Herefordshire Award winners.
Many establishments are proud to display the provenance of their ingredients – from local butchers, bakers, delis, farm shops, markets and organic food shops. A thriving range of independent and national restaurants, cafes and inns offer a wide choice – whether you are looking for family fare, a good Tibetan curry or fancy fish and chips.
The range and variety of produce makes taking a gift back home easy. Cider, juices, cassis, vodka, crisps, oils, fruit, jams, chutneys, honey, biscuits, cider and beer cakes – the list is endless. The Visit Herefordshire Centre can help identify just what you are looking for and can organise the ideal gift pack for you to take home.
