Description
The Cider House and Pomana Cottage are delightful self-catering cottages situated on a working llama farm in the Welsh Marches. Both have a four star rating and Pomona Cottage also has a Mobility level M1 accessibility rating.
The Cider House sleeps two in a 25 ft. long double bedroom with bathroom with roll-top bath. Downstairs it has a large kitchen, dining area and living area. Pomona Cottage sleeps four. It has a double bedroom upstairs and downstairs there is the twin bedroom, shower room with walk-in shower, kitchen/dining room and 22 ft. long living room.
Throughout both cottages the owners have retained the feel of the old with uncovered stone walls and old oak beams whilst introducing luxurious comfort with under-stone floor heating throughout the ground floors and beautiful newly laid oak boards upstairs. Open-plan in feel, the cottages have generous attention to detail: smart glass tables and retro chairs in the dining areas, yet soft comfortable sofas and armchairs in the living rooms. Both are furnished with attractive ash-wood pieces and both double bedrooms have beautiful antique brass bedsteads. The fully-fitted kitchens have fridges with ice compartments, dishwashers and washing machines, whilst the living areas are equipped with multi channel tvs, cd players and radios. Bath and shower rooms have heated towel rails.
All heating, hot water, linen and towels are provided for your stay plus a guest welcome pack.
The cottages may be linked at first floor level should you wish to rent a six-person cottage.
Outside is generous parking. The grounds of the farm include attractively planted gardens and in the summer the orchard blossom is a marvellous sight. Each cottage has its own garden furniture and there is further seating spread around the farm. Guests are welcome to stroll around the grounds and may choose to take a picnic or host a barbecue around the lake, where additional stone seating has been laid into the natural contours of the field.
An added attraction of your stay is the opportunity to meet the farm’s herd of llamas. The llamas are available for llama trekking by appointment all year round and the owners will be only too pleased to introduce them to you. During the summer months, all-day treks, and throughout the year, half-day treks and experiences may be arranged subject to conditions permitting. Halter and feed these charming and delightful animals and let them escort you on a stroll through the orchard and around the lake. Alternatively take a longer trip through the village of Ewyas Harold and let the llamas carry your shopping home from the well-stocked village shop.
Ewyas Harold has all the facilities you should need for a week or fortnight’s stay. As well as the general stores and Post Office, there is a butcher’s shop, two pubs which both provide bar snacks and restaurant meals and a fish and chip shop, usually open lunchtimes and evenings, Wednesday to Saturday.
